Torrent Sharing Tools Comparison, Deluge, qbittorrent & Transmission
There are a few torrent software in linux, each of it having different name but similar function, some may prefer one over another and some newcomers may ask "Which torrent software is better?"
The answer to the question above is: "It depends!". Each torrent software in linux has its own unique features that make it famous among certain group of users. I will analyse those 3 software based on:
Speed
The download speed depends on the number of connections and the speed of your internet. I feel that the 3 applications is equal in terms of download/upload speed based on the same connections and bandwidth settings.
However, the software loading speed is also an important factor that would determine its popularity. Deluge loads as fast as qbittorrent (around 2-3 seconds in my machine) and transmission loads even faster ( 1-2 seconds ) due to its lightweight GUI.
Therefore, the conclusion is Transmission leads in terms of loading speed.
Configuration
All of the torrent software have same sort of configuration ( max connection, max download/upload speed, share ratio, save folder and etc). I personally think that Transmission has a simpler configuration dialog over the other 2 software. The preference dialog of both Deluge and qbittorrent is a little bit advanced and not so comfortable for new users.
Nevertheless, i prefer configuring qbittorrent because it uses icon and text in its categories bar for easy access.
I would give qbittorrent a point for ease of configuration.
Interactive
Interactive in this context means the way the software conveys information to its user so that the user can alter the program's behaviour based on their needs. Deluge, Transmission and qbittorrent transmit information in a easily understanding manner to their users ( speed, connections, peers, seeds, progress, files and etc ).
I would give qbittorrent a mark again because of its progress bar. Both Deluge and Transmission shows the normal progress bar whereas qbittorrent shows the downloaded piece as its progress bar and availability bar. With this feature, user could monitor which part of the file is downloaded and which part is not available. Another feature i love is the availability of download sequence options. You can choose to download sequentially or download the foremost and last piece first.
If you choose to download sequentially, you would be able to preview the file from the beginning till the downloaded part in the middle of download.
Another mark added to qbittorrent.
User Friendliness
I would say that Transmission, Deluge as well as qbittorrent are very user friendly. Task could be done in less than 2 clicks like adding torrents, create torrents and download settings.
However, if you want me to choose the best out of these three, i would choose Deluge. The reasons are very simple, i still remember that i can operate like a pro when using deluge for the first time whereas i took some time to learn and adapt to the interface of Transmission and qbittorrent. Moreover, the menu and button inside Deluge is simple and easily noticeable (icons with texts).
Deluge is simply better from the aspect of user friendliness.
Conclusion
Judging from the 4 aspects above, qbittorrent gets 2 marks out of 4 judging area. Therefore, i would recommend you qbittorrent if you are looking for a torrent sharing tool.

2 features are importatnt for me. Sequential download and ability to move the content after download. AFAIK qbittorrent can do the former and deluge the latter. Is there any way how I can do both in either deluge or qbittorrent? Or can you suggest a client that can do both? Thanks.
